Programs

The Bachelor of Science in Internal Auditing provides in-depth learning on general accounting, forensic accounting, enterprise risk management, sustainability and strategic audit, internal controls, operational audit, and fraud examination. Learning takeaways are focused on resolving business issues, conducting internal auditing research, capturing financial and non-financial information to generate reports and decision making, and maintaining a commitment to good corporate citizenship, social responsibility, and ethical practice of an organization.

This program complies with the latest competency framework for the professional accountants issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) thru its International Education Standards and the global internal auditing standards which qualify graduates to take international certification assessments.

The College of Accountancy provides an educational program through which students can prepare themselves for accounting, accounting related endeavors, and increasing levels of responsibility in business and society. Graduates should acquire a broad liberal education, effective personal skills, a life-long quest for knowledge, and a global perspective that will enable them to contribute to their profession and to the world.

A vital component of the University of the Cordilleras, providing excellent and responsive accountancy programs that involve a rigorous, thorough and relentless pursuit and advancement of knowledge utilizing academic personnel, facilities, and systems of the highest quality in order to produce accounting and finance professionals who will attain personal growth and global competitiveness, and contribute towards national development.

Mission

To design and deliver programs of the highest quality in accountancy and allied fields, preparing its students to become productive members of society as successful accountancy and finance professionals through the judicious and efficient use of resources, continuous review and updates of curricula, faculty development, research, community extension, industry linkages and networks.

Milestones

2001

• Founding of the College of Accountancy. The College initially offered the program Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) CMO 3 series of 2007.

2004

• The College started to offer Bachelor of Science in Financial and Management Accounting (BSFMA), a non-board program.

2008

• In October 2008, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy was granted Level I Accreditation Status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).

2010

• As a growing College, a third program, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (BSAcT), was offered starting June 2010 under CMO 50 series of 2008.

2011

• Lilet Locquiao, a BSA student was a national finalist in the 13th PICPA-ACPACI National Search for Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines

2012

• In June 2012, a fourth program, the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Accounting (BSFrA) was offered.

• In April 2012, The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy was granted Level II Re-accreditation status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).

• The Bachelor of Science in Financial and Management Accounting (BSFMA) was renamed Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) starting S.Y. 2012-2013.

2013

• Mebielyn Lloren, a BSA student was a national finalist in the 15th PICPA-ACPACI National Search for Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines.

• The College signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Battambang (UB), Cambodia on research collaboration, student and faculty exchange, and special projects

• Statement of Collaboration with University of Jakarta, Indonesia on faculty and student exchange, joint community service development, joint publication and research activities, joint workshops, seminars and conferences and development of short-term training programs.

2014

• Blessie Ngeteg, a BSA student, was a delegate to the 17th National Ayala Young Leaders Congress (AYLC 2014). Also, Demi Lynn Fianza, a BSA student, participated in the 9th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit.

2016

• Donald Mark Rapinan, a BSA student participated in the 11th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit.

• Rochelle Faith Malafu, a BSMA graduate received the Leadership Citation during the 70th Commencement Exercises.

2017

• The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy was granted Level III Re-accredited status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).

• Raquel Calawen, a BSA student attended the 12th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit.

2018

• The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (BSAcT) was renamed Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems (BSAIS) CMO 30 series of 2017 starting S.Y. 2018-2019.

• UC was awarded10th Best Performing Accountancy School in the Philippines.

2020

• 12 students from the College of Accountancy participated the Student E-mobility Program hosted by Multimedia University, Malaysia from Nov. 8-22, 2020.

• The College signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA on international certifications, seminars and conferences, and research projects

2021

• Alexander Salvador Bandiola placed number 3 in the grand finals of 22nd Search for Outstanding Accounting Students of the Philippines.

• COA students participated in the E-mobility Program hosted by Multimedia University, Malaysia from June 22 – July 4, 2021.

• The College signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Multimedia University (MMU) , Malaysia on faculty and student exchange, joint research, joint programmes, academic staff development, and teaching and learning activities.
