About
The UC College of Law believes that the life of law is not logic; the life of law is experience, for law embodies the story of a nation's development through the centuries.
The College of Law believes in the overriding principle that governs the practice of law and the administration of justice - the deep commitment and adherence to TRUTH and JUSTICE, values which have remained constant and immutable through the years. For without TRUTH there can never be JUSTICE.
"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free"
UC College of Law stands foursquare on the principle that justice is truth in action. We believe that in all human conflicts, truth and righteousness shall ultimately prevail.
No one who loves the law loves injustice - but the law exists to protect all that bow before its majesty or not.
The College of Law is oriented to the philosophy of lifelong learning dedicated to service.
Vision
Into the next half century of service to the youth, we envision UC as a community of scholars more aggressively involved in the pursuit and advancement of knowledge in its entire dimension, as an end in itself and as a tool in personal, community, and national development. UC shall help preserve and develop Filipino culture and values; shall assist in rearing the Filipino youth to their fullest potentials by training them to think critically and creatively, to act positively, and to contribute to the development of a wholesome family, community, and the larger society.
Mission
UC’s mission is to provide, through dynamic interaction of teachers and learners, of academe and the community, wider opportunities for the attainment of a better quality of life for its constituents. This shall be accomplished by emphasizing the acquisition of functional knowledge and skills to make them productive members of society, by encouraging the development of skilled professionals who will provide leadership in the various disciplines, and by the sustained pursuit of knowledge as an end in itself-discovering, processing, documenting, transmitting, and disseminating knowledge in all its forms and dimensions.
To these ends, the University of the Cordilleras shall:
- develop a teaching-learning environment that is conducive to inquiry and independent thought;
- empower its constituents for responsible and functional leadership in the quest for economic progress and the equitable distribution of the national wealth;
- contribute to the appreciation of the historical and cultural heritage of the Filipinos and of the human race;
- be actively involved in the molding of a national identity, the formation of the national purpose, and the attainment of the unity among the Filipino;
- cultivate a deep sense of moral and spiritual values in order to enhance the development of humane and just individuals;
